# How to set up Gemini Spark

Spark already has your Google account context, so there is little to connect. Most of the setup is deciding what it may touch and when it should run.

## What you need

- Google AI Pro in the US, or Google AI Ultra in a supported country
- A personal Google account for someone 18 or older, or a business account where the admin has enabled Spark
- A country outside the EEA, Switzerland, the UK and Nigeria

## Step by step

### 1. Switch to Spark in Gemini

Open the Gemini app on the web, Android, iOS or macOS and switch to Spark. If it is missing, check your plan and country against Google's availability page.

### 2. Limit its Google apps

Review access to Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Chrome and Photos. Remove anything your first tasks do not need.

### 3. Schedule a recurring task

Ask for something that repeats, such as a Monday summary of emails still waiting for a reply. Spark saves the task and runs it on that schedule.

### 4. Set an event trigger

Tell Spark to act when something happens, such as a new email from a client, a change in your calendar or a document someone shares with you.

### 5. Supervise the first runs

Google asks users to supervise Spark closely. Read the first results in full and stop any task that heads in the wrong direction.

## First things to do after setup

- Keep the task list short: Spark can run up to 15 tasks at once, but a few well-defined ones work better.
- Word recurring requests exactly the way you want them done, because repeat jobs turn into skills over time.
- On a business account, check with your Workspace admin, who can restrict Spark.

## Common mistakes

- Granting access to every Google app on day one.
- Running many vague tasks in parallel instead of a few precise ones.
- Leaving early results unchecked, even though Google asks for close supervision.
